Tavira

Tavira

Access to the island of Tavira is done by a narrow pedestrian bridge that rises on a canal of the estuary and then on foot or by a small train to the beach. It is also connected by a ferry. The beach is situated on the northeast side of the Island of Tavira, an idyllic sand bar that stretches for 12 km along the Ria Formosa Natural Park. The average temperature of the sea water is around 22º C. The waves on the island of Tavira work with the rising sea. Waves are inconsistent, almost always with sea wind.
